Budget airlines within Europe such as Ryanair, Flybe, Easyjet and  AirBerlin, often times, offer free flights under certain restrictions (really, you only pay the tax). Keep in mind that these flights have a limited amount of seats, can only be purchased at the specific sale times, have pre-determined arrival and departure cities and travel dates.  Since they are free, they sell out FAST!  If you’re lucky to be cruising for a ticket at the right time, don’t think about it for a second.  Buy it and know that you got a great deal.

Consider working for an airline.  Not only do you get a chance to wear those snazzy outfits, but your job requires you to fly to countless countries. Family members of employees are also benefactors of similar travel perks.  There are a few conditions like having to fly stand-by but with an open schedule, this is a fantastic option.  Although you cannot double-up and earn points as an airline employee,  you can earn “mile high” points while in the air if you dare.

Americans know the benefits of racking up mile points on their credit cards. Creditcards.com allows you to compare cards suited for exactly what you need (in this case, points).  These points can eventually turn into free flights. Make sure to read the fine print and choose carefully.

Air Courier: Remember that Simpsons episode when Bart flies all over the world just by delivering a package? Well, guess what?  That’s a real job and its a perfectly legal and a free way to fly. Air couriers transport all sorts of packages from legal documents to human organs, to different countries.  By having the company purchase you a seat, the important items can move through customs quickly, easily and safely.

• A couple of terms are: in exchange for the free ticket, you might have to give up the right to check in some or all of your baggage and you must travel on very short notice. Other than that, the deal is pretty sweet and you get bonus points for having a cool job.

Travel Writer: This is the ultimate, sweet, swag of a job.  If you’ve got the creative flow, you can write articles for travel magazines, guide books or blogs. While keeping an eye out for job listings, start writing and compiling a wide variety of articles you think are interesting and helpful. Once you find an opportunity, you will already have examples of your work on hand.
