I went to Bali for a quick 2 day break by myself. I spent day one diving among the wrecks of ships and rainbows of fish. Due to a rule that you cannot dive within 24hrs of flying, and my departure being the following day, I decided to go to Kuta (the party town) to finish my weekend with a bang (and a bang it was!) After booking the first hotel I saw, which had a pool, included breakfast and cost $8/night, I went exploring. It was evening by then so I went to dinner and inquired about a reggae club. I was directed to a hot spot called Apache which boasted a live band and a sand covered dance floor. I took up a booth, which was an elevated platform scattered with pillows and separated from others by deep red drapes, and began to drink and relax. Soon the fire water got to my legs and I proceeded to dance and survey my surroundings. Suddenly a god walks in; tall, lean and tan. I watched him from afar to ensure that he was alone and eventually moseyed my way over to him. We began to dance. Eventually I brought him over to my booth and we drank and talked. I found out he was an Italian snowboarding teacher surfing in Bali for 3 months (his professional and leisure activities should vaguely hint at the shape and condition of his body). The music flowed, the drinks vanished and the night flourished. Finally, lips locked, and in a drunken stupor we arrived at my luxurious $8 suite. The clothes came off and revealed an intricate tattoo covering the entire back of my newfound acquaintance. It was beautiful, and so was the sunrise which we watched covered in sweat and hotel sheets after a sleepless night of perfect bliss.
