Off Track Planet Selected to Participate in Start-up Chile Program
Last week, the Government of Chile announced the winners of the Start-up Chile 2011 Competition which grants high-impact start-ups from all around the world $40,000 in equity-free capital, 1-year work visas and governmental support to grow their companies from Chile.
More than 300 start-ups applied worldwide in the Start-up Chile Competition who had to pass through a series of rigorous evaluations conducted by venture capitalists, active entrepreneurs and specific industry experts as well as the Committee of Entrepreneurship and Innovation that presides over The Chilean Economic Development Agency (Corfo) and its innovation branch, InnovaChile.
Sebastian Piñera, Chilean President, stated: “We cannot arrive late to this new revolution of information and knowledge where innovation, entrepreneurship, science, and technology are the central components.” Adding, “we have opened our country, not only to develop and incentivize Chilean innovation and entrepreneurship, but also to invite the world to come to Chile to try their luck.”
Freddie Pikovsky, Off Track Planet’s CEO says “we are extremely excited to participate in Start-Up Chile, and we have no doubt that the opportunities this program can provide will be key in the success and growth of our company.” Adding, “We see this as a unique opportunity to help bridge the New York City and Latin American start-up scenes”.
