Burning Man Festival: 2009

burning man Burning Man Festival: 2009Think of Burning Man as a prep class for international travel (well a class with no desks, books or homework; just a lot of: fire, fun, food and ..). Although it is based here in the United States (San Francisco), it’s a unique event that provides a gateway to meeting international partying travelers; an event to inspire travel abroad. Here’s some background:
Burning Man began in San Francisco when Larry Harvey burned a wooden figure representing a failed romance on the beach. As the flames burned, crowds gathered, and in no time a party was formed in rejoice of the burn. The party grew and expanded to an international fan base and was relocated to the dessert.
Over 50,000 people come to see the now 43 foot tall Burning Man burn (along with other varying burning objects). The experience of this festival will blow your mind. It is as if you are entering into a magical circus where the world comes together and celebrates as one. For an entire week, you will be entertained by nude bike rides (one of which is called critical tits), fire dancing, fire balls, the biggest rave on earth and much much more. Plus, the new (possibly nude) friends you make there may equal some free international accommodations in the future. In short, you don’t want to miss out on this opportunity.
The Burning Man party starts this Labor Day weekend, August 31st – September 7th. Tickets are still available HERE.
